Privacy Policy - Field Guides

Linda Haitani, LLC ("we," "us," "Linda Haitani") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you buy or read one of our Field Guides, why, and what we do and do not do with it.

What we collect

  • Your email address, so we can deliver your access code, send you the quarterly editions your purchase includes, and reach you about your purchase.

  • Purchase information, processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; Stripe handles payment data under its own security standards. We retain a record of what you bought and when.

  • Limited technical data when you use the reader — such as your IP address and the email/access code associated with your account — used to grant access and to detect access-code sharing that violates the license.

  • Basic website analytics collected by our website platform, Squarespace, and any analytics tools we enable, in aggregate form.

Why we collect it
To deliver the product and its updates, to provide customer support, to protect the product against unauthorized sharing, and to improve the guides. We rely on your purchase (contract) and our legitimate interest in running and protecting the business as the bases for this processing.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

  • We do not share your information with third parties except the service providers who help us operate (for example, Stripe for payments, our email provider for delivery, and our hosting provider), each of which handles it only to provide those services.

  • We do not feed your personal information into public AI tools.

How long we keep it
We keep your email and purchase record for as long as you hold an active edition and as needed for our legitimate business and legal/tax record-keeping, then delete or anonymize it.

Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or unsubscribe from edition and update emails, by emailing linda@haitani.org. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.

Children
Our guides are sold to school leaders and other adults. The products are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through them.

Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be noted on this page.
