Privacy Policy

This is a resource and content website. We do not collect any payment or financial information here, and no purchases are made on this site. We do link to products we offer elsewhere — such as our books and Field Guides, which are sold on a separate website. Any purchase you make there is handled on that site and governed by its own privacy policy and terms, not this page.

What we collect

  • Contact information you choose to give us. If you fill out our "Keep in Touch" form, we collect the name and email address (and any other details) you enter, so we can send you periodic updates. You provide this voluntarily.

  • Basic website analytics. Our website platform, Squarespace, collects standard, mostly aggregate technical data — such as pages visited, general location, browser type, and cookies — to keep the site running and help us understand what's useful.

Why we collect it
To send you the updates you asked for, to respond to you, and to operate and improve the website. We rely on your consent (when you submit the form) and our legitimate interest in running the site as the bases for this.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

  • We do not collect payment or financial information on this site. (Purchases of our books and Field Guides happen on a separate site, under its own terms.)

  • We do not share your information with third parties except the service providers who help us operate — for example, our website host (Squarespace) and our email/newsletter provider — each of which handles it only to provide those services.

  • We do not feed your personal information into public AI tools.

How long we keep it
We keep the contact information you submit for as long as you wish to receive updates from us, and as needed for ordinary business and legal record-keeping, then delete or anonymize it.
